Questions

The things worth knowing before you put five years of your professional record into someone else's software.

Whether you need it

Do I actually need this?

Maybe not. If you finish a course, file the certificate in one folder you'll still be able to find in four years, and you already know your pharmacology total, you have a system and it works. Wellkept is for when that isn't quite true — when CE has arrived from six different providers over five years and lives in your inbox, your downloads, and an employer portal you no longer have a login for.

Can't I just use a spreadsheet?

You can, and plenty of people do. A spreadsheet works right up until the evening you need to know how many of your 63.5 hours were pharmacology, and whether you still have the certificate for something you took in 2023. Then you're building columns and hunting through email instead of doing something else. Wellkept is the version of that spreadsheet somebody already built, with the certificates attached to the rows.

Doesn't AANPCB or ANCC already track this for me?

Not any more. AANPCB retired its CE tracker, and renewal is now an attestation — you confirm you've met the requirements rather than submitting the evidence. The documentation stays with you, and you may be asked for it in an audit.

What happened to the AANPCB CE log

I'm certified through ANCC, not AANPCB. Does it still work?

Yes. Your requirements are numbers you set, not numbers built into the app — total hours, pharmacology hours, practice hours, and your certification period. AANPCB's figures are the defaults because that's who this was first built for; change them in Settings and everything on the dashboard follows.

How many CE hours do nurse practitioners need

Is this an official certification record?

No, and it can't be. Wellkept is independent and isn't affiliated with AANP, AANPCB, NPCB, or ANCC. Nothing you enter here is reported to anyone. It's your own record, organized well enough to produce when someone asks for it.

Using it

How long does this take to set up?

Setting your certification period takes about a minute. Adding one CE record takes less than that. Catching up on several years takes as long as it takes you to find the certificates, which is the honest answer — but you don't have to do it in one sitting, and the totals are correct at every point along the way.

Will I actually keep using it?

The realistic pattern is that you open it when you finish a course, spend a minute, and close it again. That's what it's designed for. If you'd rather log a few at a time every couple of months, that works too — nothing nags you, and nothing breaks if you leave it alone for a while.

Do I still need to keep my own certificates?

Yes. Keep the originals wherever you normally keep them. Wellkept is a well-organized second copy, not a replacement for the first one.

What if I record something wrong?

Everything can be edited or deleted, including records from a certification period that has already closed. Nothing is locked once it's entered.

Your records

Is my information safe?

Your records are visible only to you. That's enforced by the database itself rather than by the app remembering to ask correctly, and your uploaded certificates sit in private storage with no public web address. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts anywhere on this site, and nothing is ever sold or shared.

Can I get my records out again?

Any time, in one download. You get spreadsheet files organized by certification period alongside every certificate you uploaded, in named folders. It's built to be useful outside Wellkept, because a record you can't take with you isn't really yours.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, permanently, from Settings, without asking anyone. Your files go first, then your records, then your sign-in — and no copy is kept. Export first if there's any chance you'll want it back.

Will Wellkept still be here when I renew in four years?

I can't promise you a five-year guarantee from a small independent tool, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. What I can promise is that you'll never be trapped: your records are exportable at any moment, and if Wellkept ever has to shut down, you'll get notice and a chance to take everything with you first.

That commitment, written into the terms

Is Wellkept CE free?

Yes, it's free to use. There may eventually be optional paid features. If that happens, everything you've already entered stays free to access, edit and export — your record is yours, and it doesn't get locked behind a payment.

Something not answered here?

Ask. It's a small operation, so you'll get a real reply rather than a support ticket.
